At Dexafile, your privacy is our top priority. We believe in full transparency about how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information and uploaded files.

Data Collection

We collect minimal information necessary to provide our services. This includes your email address and name if you create an account, and technical data such as IP addresses, browser type, operating system, and referral URLs to improve platform performance and security.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to facilitate file conversions, provide customer support, and improve user experience. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling purposes.

File Security & Encryption

All file uploads and downloads are protected using 256-bit TLS/SSL encryption during transit between your browser and our servers. Files stored on our servers are secured with standard server-side access controls and isolated storage paths. We do not implement client-side (end-to-end) encryption.

Data Retention & File Storage

Uploaded files are stored on our self-hosted MinIO server (an S3-compatible object storage system). Files are automatically deleted from our servers within 1 hour after upload. Presigned download URLs also expire after 1 hour and cannot be reused.

  • Personal account data retained while account is active
  • Guest users: no personal data is stored

Servers & Storage Infrastructure

Your uploaded files are processed and temporarily stored on our self-hosted MinIO (S3-compatible) object storage servers. We do not use third-party cloud providers such as AWS S3, Google Cloud, or Azure for storing your uploaded documents. All processing happens on infrastructure directly managed by Dexafile.

AI & Machine Learning

Some of our tools — including Summarize PDF, Generate Questions from PDF, and PDF OCR — use AI and OCR processing to read and analyze your file's content in order to deliver the feature you requested. This analysis is temporary and limited strictly to fulfilling that specific task. We do not use your uploaded files to train AI or machine learning models, and file contents are not shared with third parties for training purposes or indexed for any other use.

  • AI/OCR tools process file content only to generate your requested output (e.g. a summary, quiz questions, or extracted text)
  • Files and their content are NOT used to train AI or machine learning models
  • Processing is temporary and limited to the specific task you request
  • Files are deleted per our stated retention window after processing
